“The Specialized Information Service (FID) as a partner for Islamic Studies” is the title of our presentation for the Seminar for Oriental Studies at the University of Kiel on 22 May 2019.
The lecture introduces you to the services offered by the FID, which has been providing Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies with research-relevant materials in printed and electronic form since 2016.
It invites you to use the products purchased by the FID specifically for your studies and to address your own requests to the FID for specialized sources from the countries of the MENA region.
In addition to acquiring print publications, the FID also negotiates electronic products such as the Arab “Islamic Studies Collection” of the “Al Manhal” platform, which members of the University of Kiel can access campus-wide.
Another part of the presentation will be the project page “MENALIB” and the repository “MENAdoc”, where electronic documents on Middle East and Islamic Studies are freely accessible. MENAdoc also allows you Secondary Publications of your own research papers in open access.
