The academic advisory board of the Specialised Information Service (FID) Middle East, North Africa and Islamic Studies will meet in Halle on November 19, 2019. The FID is a project of the University and State Library Saxony-Anhalt (and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
At the meeting in the first year of the FID’s second funding phase, the results to date will be presented and the future goals discussed.
The advisory board of the FID is made up of academics and researchers as well as academic librarians from various German universities and research institutions. These include the German Orient Institutes in Beirut and Istanbul as well as the Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient (Berlin). The board members represent the fields of Arabic Studies, Islamic Studies, Iranian Studies, Turkology, Islamic Theology, Middle East Studies and Christian Orient.
The meeting will be opened by Mrs. Berghaus-Sprengel, Director of the ULB. In addition to the FID team, other members of the library management will participate.
